About us

The practice is operated by Barry Anderson and Michelle Anderson. Barry has been involved in the arboricultural industry since 1994 and has been undertaking arboricultural and ecological consultancy work since 2002. Outside of work Barry is a licensed member of the Durham Bat Group. This involves undertaking survey work, volunteering at events and assisting with the manning of a 24 hour rota during the active season in order to deal with emergencies such as grounded bats. Michelle is a Fellow of the Geological Society and holds an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.

Brian Anderson is an associate who acts as the company’s health & safety advisor. Brian has been involved in managing health and safety matters in the workplace for a number of years and is a Technician Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Brian is experienced in many aspects of risk assessment including: manual handling, COSHH, LOLER, PUWER and method statements. He has completed a full health & safety policy for the company and has completed a set of risk assessments for the works we undertake.

Our bat surveys require us to undertake internal inspections on a variety of buildings. For this reason Barry and Brian have both undertaken basic asbestos awareness training provided by TASC Environmental Services Ltd. Click on the logo for a link to the TASC website.
